Most people take easy of what manners they should be keeping in mind and that is the main reason why they are unable to act in a proper manners. Nowhere are manners more vital that at the table. Whether you’re eating at luxury restaurant, in the cafeteria, or at home with families and friends, good table manners make for a more pleasant meals.   1. Chewing with closed mouth

This is the prime rule of table manners. Chew with your mouth closed, eat slowly and never talk when you have food in your mouth. Even if someone asks you a question, wait until you swallow before answering. Eat as quietly as possible. Seeing food roll around in someone’s gob is just gross!

  1. Keep your smartphone off

Turn off your smartphone and set it to silent or vibrate mode before sitting down. It is rude to talk on your phone or text while in the company of others. This one seems obvious, and wait to check calls and texts until you are finished with the meal and away from the table.

  1. Use your napkin in the right way

The basic rule of napkin is, you can put it on your lap as soon as you sit down. However, many of us use a napkin as a tissue. You have to use the napkin just to blot the lips not to wipe the whole part of your mouth.

  1. Elbows off the table

Keeping our elbows off the dinner table has been drilled into us since birth, but it’s not a hard and fast rule. But when it comes to the table manners, you have to sit up straight and rest the hand you are not using on your lap.

  1. Avoid burping or making other rude sounds at the table

You should avoid burping around others at all times especially when you are at dining table. If you urge to burp at the table, then burp into your napkin. Moreover, don’t drum your fingers on the table because you will making a noise at the table.
